Abstract of Research:
This study explores Personal Brand Design Processes, and assesses whether they can be Design Managed.
Currently Personal Branding is considered to be strategic personal positioning and marketing. In a society of information-overload we need to ‘stand out from the crowd’ in order to be noticed. Using a process of understanding how a person is perceived by others, how they want to be perceived and how this matches up, a Personal Brand Evaluation can begin the design process. Once this is aligned with personal values and life goals, the brand can be launched. Utilising a combination of sales, marketing and brand techniques, Personal Branding can be advertised.
Several experts currently consult and write about Personal Branding. Three experts are interviewed in this dissertation. Design processes are investigated and evaluated for design management feasibility.
To measure current awareness and perception in the UK, an ethnographic survey in the form of a questionnaire was conducted. This aimed to gauge the effect of Personal Branding on cultural, social and organisational life.
